HONEST LABI

It's your lucky day, Labi,' said his friend Friday, who was there at the time. 'Now all your dreams can come true. That money must have slipped into the carton without anyone noticing.'

Labi found a small envelope addressed to a firm inside the paper bag. 'But this was the firm which the driver said he was going to. He must think he has the money and letter in the car with him.'

Well, that's not your problem,' replied Friday. 'You must thank your lucky stars for such a windfall. This is the chance of getting rich, my friend . Opportunity knocks but once.'

  'What do you think will happen to the driver?' asked Labi.

  'How does that concern you? Of course he's in for trouble.

If a driver you trusted with money told you he had lost such a huge sum, would you believe him? He will surely sleep in a police cell tonight.'

And you want me to thank my lucky stars, and leave an innocent man to suffer, most likely to go to prison, just for carelessness? No, Friday, I can't. My opportunity for riches will just have to knock again some other time. 

I'm going straight to Chief's house, so that when the driver can't find the money and hurries back to his employer's house, thinking that he must have left it behind somewhere in the house, I will hand it to him.
